The third of combination basically is a  interconnection between simplicity and organic growth. The overlapping of singe squire spiral up in different direction generate a sense of growing and a movement of space.

In terms of the effect of Japanise culture, there are some common elements can be seen from their architecture. The eave of Tokyo National Gymnasium is inspired by Japanese pagoda which is a part of  Japanese temple and the concrete facade also represent the Japanese economic renaissance in that period.

Thus, the Japanese cultural background become a part of monuments, besides other concepts both from sajima and  kenzo.

Tange was also inspired by Japanese history and culture. As he was quoted as saying:  ”Architecture must have something that appeals to the human heart, but even then, basic forms, spaces and appearances must be logical. Creative work is expressed in our time as a union of technology and humanity. The role of tradition is that of a catalyst, which furthers a chemical reaction, but is no longer detectable in the end result. Tradition can, to be sure, participate in a creation, but it can no longer be creative itself.”
